I am also learning Chinese Chess too, as my son just started playing!

Do you have iPhone?  One of the iPhone Game "Chinese Chess Master" seems very good

I tried using it against a Free Java Chinese Chess online, it won wor!

No ar, just reading book and playing online and on iPhone.

If I don't know what the best next move,  I would stop and let computer to play the rest using (9 depth, advance mode), and try to learn why it doing it that way...

the iPhone one has hints too

I am at very beginner level, start game getting better, not ok middle game, and I could not finish fast even if I have better hands

But I am enjoying it very much as I learn many "proper" moves, which seems to be more effective moves

Not very good at chess when I was a kid...
Doing only a bit better now...
Need to keep up
If not my son would win law

I can understand the feeling.
It hurts me when my son won, only after a few weeks of learning...
That's why I push myself to play better...
I guess I can still play with him for a year or two if he is not really into it
Just like Table tennis
