well, I don't read any official table tennis techniques website or manual, however, when I talk to my friend in the states ( "foreigners"), they understand and presume we are talking about the loop or loop drive.

In fact, in daily conversation, you don't even say you kill the ball. Guess what, instead of saying " the ball", we'd say "smash the ball".
