Hi Mao Mao,

I don't think that your English is just so so as you due direct with U.S. customers, right!

was it due, deal or diu?
作者: Joec    時間: 2009-5-12 20:30

Hi Riccardo,

Many thanks for your quick response as well as the correction.

It should be "deal" instead of "due" as mentioned in my previous message.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Joec

Just some nonsensical utterances on my part, no need to be serious sir.

Hi Riccardo,

To you this correction represents nothing, but to me, this is my money. It's not only my money; but most importantly, improves my English.

Thanks a lot!!!

a careless mistake is found,  "no" should be replaced by "not an". Give me reward points Mao Mao.

Sorry my friend, the way I wrote that sentense is not incorrect.  It's informal, but by no mean it is incorrect.

But please don't call me Sir R. I have not been dubbed. Call me Riccardo is good enough.
作者: bigsam    時間: 2009-5-15 05:33

I fully agreed with James 007, too formal or even care on every grammer is boring, the aim of writing or speaking a foreign language is to make others( especially foreigners) know what you think or want to do. just simple english will be enough.
作者: Polyman    時間: 2009-5-15 07:08

I basically agree.  Blow water is no problem, but for good, some serious mistakes should be avoided.

Right.
Correctness, formality and tone of speech are three different aspects. We should, in the first place, ensure the grammar and spelling are correct and then we can talk about the formality and the tone.
