Commencing at 15:00 local time, the first trophy contest of the day comes in the Women’s Doubles competition as two Chinese partnerships battle it out for glory.
Chen Xingtong and Sun Yingsha won two titles as a pairing on last year’s ITTF World Tour, but the duo could face a tough challenge on day four of the Seamaster 2018 Hungarian Open with Chen Ke and Wang Manyu providing the opposition.
The Men’s Doubles final is the next item on the list. Can Vladimir Samsonov and Pavel Platonov become the first all-Belarusian partnership to secure a gold medal finish in the Men’s Doubles category since the formation of the ITTF World Tour – or will China’s Fan Zhendong and Yu Ziyang come away with the trophy?
Next up the attention shifts to the Women’s Singles final as sixth seed Wang Manyu goes head-to-head with qualification hero Sun Yingsha.
In the previous meeting between the two Chinese stars it was Sun Yingsha who came out on top across seven games in a thrilling Girls’ Singles final at the 2017 World Junior Championships. Will it be a similar outcome in Budapest or will Wang Manyu get the better of her compatriot this time around?
Rounding off the day’s action is the gold medal match in the Men’s Singles category as Fan Zhendong and Wang Chuqin meet in an intriguing fixture.
Fan Zhendong hasn’t won a Men’s Singles trophy on the ITTF World Tour since the SheSays 2016 China Open while Wang Chuqin is appearing in his first ITTF World Tour final of any description. Seeded first, Fan Zhendong will be the favourite to lift the trophy but Wang Chuqin has been in splendid form in Budapest and will give everything he’s got in the tournament finale.
